KØL Panel Applications

Choosing KØL® High-Density Fiber Cement for architectural building design, cladding, and rainscreen facades is a decision underscored by its strength, durability, fire resistance, and mold resistance. Complying with NFPA 285 standards, its high-density composition not only enhances fire safety by slowing down flame spread but also resists mold growth, crucial in maintaining healthy building environments. This makes KØL a valuable material in new construction and re-cladding applications, offering a balanced solution that combines aesthetic and vital safety features. Ideal for exterior applications, KØL ensures longevity, fire resilience, and mold resistance, meeting strict safety regulations and providing reassurance in both urban and residential projects.

Exterior Applications

  • Ventilated & Rainscreen Facade Systems: KØL panels offer excellent moisture management, protecting buildings from water ingress while enhancing thermal performance. This is achieved through a multilayered approach including a weather-resistant barrier, insulation, an air cavity for moisture management, and a robust outer cladding layer.

  • General Cladding: Beyond specialized systems, KØL panels are suitable for general cladding purposes. Their strength and weather-resistant properties make them perfect for withstanding environmental elements, from harsh sunlight to heavy rain, ensuring the building's exterior remains sound over time.

Re-Cladding & Retrofitting

  • Re-Cladding and Retrofitting: KØL panels, coupled with EXO's subframing systems, including the Floor to Floor (F2F) setup, offer a comprehensive solution for re-cladding projects. They provide an efficient way to upgrade the building’s facade, improve thermal performance, and increase durability with minimal structural modifications. This packaged approach ensures compatibility and streamlines the renovation process.

Interior Applications

  • Aesthetic & Functional Wall Cladding: In interior spaces, KØL panels bring a unique blend of aesthetic appeal and functionality. They can be used in high-traffic areas due to their impact resistance, and their diverse range of finishes allows for creative design expressions.

  • Moisture-Resistant Environments: Thanks to their resistance to moisture and mold, KØL panels are well-suited for use in bathrooms, kitchens, and other wet areas, providing a durable and hygienic surface.

KØL Rainscreen System & Cladding

KØL High Density Fiber Cement panels are designed for use in rainscreen cladding systems, providing a durable and energy-efficient facade solution. VAF systems use vertical tracks and concealed fasteners for a seamless look, while HAF systems have visible fasteners for easy access and adjustment. Both systems are self-shimming, allow for thermal movement, and contribute to the building's thermal efficiency. With their high-density composition, KØL panels also enhance a building's thermal insulation and fire resistance, meeting the NFPA 285 standards for exterior walls.

Vertical Adjustable Framing (VAF w/Concealed Attachment)

  • Utilizes vertical carrier tracks to support the panel framing.

  • Features the self-shimming WB Adjustable Bracket for precise alignment.

  • Ensures a seamless facade look with concealed clip and rail fastening system.

  • Ideal for sleek, modern designs where the focus is on uninterrupted lines.
